September 8th, 2012

On Saturday September 8, 2012 Main Street Waterbury will be hosting their 7th annual Brass City Brew Fest at Library Park in Waterbury Connecticut from 1-5 pm. This event will contain over 250 beers from over one hundred different breweries with additional beer education seminars. Rain or Shine if you are around on 9/8 make sure you join the other 1999 beer enthusiasts and drink some great beers, eat some fantastic food, and maybe you can even win a door prize at the Brass City Brew Fest. Cheers!

About the Brass City Brewfest:

More than 2000 beer aficionados gathered in Library Park in September 2011 for the 6th annual Brass City Brew Fest – featuring 125+ breweries and brewpubs showcasing more than 275 domestic and international brews. The Brew Fest is an opportunity for beer lovers to sample a daunting variety of craft brews. According to many observers, it’s the largest beer fest in Connecticut in terms of the number of beers presented and one of the largest in New England. Proving its appeal, the Brew Fest has drawn attendees from more than 90 towns in Connecticut and a dozen states up and down the East Coast. In 2011, three free mini beer & brewing seminars were held throughout the day (see a description of the seminars below). Attendees enjoyed a great selection of hearty food from local eateries while three live bands provided entertainment . . . and the annual Grand Street Cruise – a free classic car show – has been held in conjunction with the Brew Fest since ’07 was on display again in 2011.

IMPORTANT:

• To ensure a long-lasting supply of brew for all attendees, brewer & brewpub participants will only pour 3 oz tasting portions. Attendees will be able to enjoy an “unlimited” tasting experience from the 250+ brews presented – but please remember it is up to you to enjoy responsibly.

• Attendees may bring pint glasses or other drinking vessels into the Brew Fest & brewers will be selling pint glasses as they have in the past – but no pours will be made by servers directly into large drinking vessels. Pours will be made into plastic tasting cups (provided at Brew Fest) and Brass City Brew Fest 7 oz tasting glasses only.

• The 7 oz tasters will be available for purchase for $3 (2 for $5). If you’ve purchased a BCBF tasting glass in the past, you may bring it with you.

• VIP Session (12-1 pm) ticket holders will be able to begin check-in at 11:30 am. At check-in you’ll present your ticket, have your ID checked & receive a hand-stamp so that when the gates open at 12 noon for the VIP Session you’ll walk right in.

• General Admission (1-5 pm) ticket holders will begin check-in at the gate at 12:30 pm. At check-in you’ll present your ticket, have your ID checked & receive a hand-stamp so that when the gates open at 1 pm you’ll walk right in.

• Signage at the gates will clearly guide you thru the check-in procedure & into the Brew Fest, so you don’t need to memorize any of this.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASE!
As many as 200 people have been turned away at the gate in past years when the Brew Fest has sold out.
