(MAY 2, 2013) Hartford, CT – The Connecticut beer industry is proud to launch the
state’s “Brew & Buy Local” campaign, a joint effort among brewers, wholesalers, retailers and
restaurants to support local industries. The campaign will officially launch during CT Beer Week,
May 11-18, 2013. This weeklong, statewide event was created to celebrate the vibrant beer
industry in Connecticut. The campaign’s message is simple: from breweries to restaurants, our
industry produces fabulous products and contributes a significant amount to the local economy.
So, when you’re making a choice, we ask you to choose to support local Connecticut companies.
On Tuesday May 14 at 11am in room 1B of the Legislative Office Building members of
the industry will host a legislative press conference to highlight the importance of local breweries,
wholesalers, retailers and restaurants’ contribution to Connecticut’s economy. At the press
conference, industry members will officially launch the “Brew & Buy Local” campaign and unveil a
mobile application to support the Connecticut Beer Trail powered by

Kevin Bradshaw, founder/CEO of the Connecticut-based, will demonstrate
the “Beerdog” app at the press conference. Beerdog combines social media, image recognition
and geolocation to connect beer fans across the state and across the world. Take a photo of a
beer and Beerdog will “fetch” all the details about the beer. Does this app offer benefits for
Connecticut, specifically? Absolutely, from the Connecticut Beer Trail, to hundreds of retail
outlets, Kevin will share a vision of how this iTunes approved app can be used to support the
Brew & Buy Local experience. It’s our desire to lay the groundwork for a robust app that connects
users to information about multiple destinations across the state, thus providing convenience to
Connecticut visitors.
About CT Beer Week
CT Beer Week will take place from May 11-18, 2013. The week is a collaboration of events
hosted by brewers, wholesalers, retailers and restaurants throughout Connecticut. The 2013 CT
Beer Week is focused around the “Brew & Buy Local” campaign created by the Connecticut beer
industry to inform the Connecticut Legislature about the significant impact the industry has on the
economy. CT Beer Week events bring the “Brew & Buy Local” campaign to the public through
